2021-2022 Getting Back To Running

Grand Prix #1 – Concordia

Cross-country running kicked off its season with a race hosted by Concordia at Gold Bar Park in
Edmonton. A highlight was the performance by Michio Green who ran the 8 km course in an
outstanding time of 26:15, finishing as the 2nd ACAC runner. Second year runner Noah Day was
12th in a fine time of 29:33, and the men’s team was rounded off by promising first-year runners
Ben Nawrot, Jonas Stoll-Pott, and Sam Nawrot for third place in the team category.

In the women’s race, first-year runner Reese Bendiksen led the team over the 6 km course with
a 4th place finish with an impressive time of 24:40. Catherine Alcorn and Anne Mirejovsky also
broke into the top ten with times of 25:32 and 26:33 respectively. Sarah Hicks, Kylie Peake, and
Mia Spreen ran fine races to contribute to the team’s 3rd place showing.

The next Grand Prix race will be hosted by Red Deer College on Saturday, September 14. Most
of the rest of the large 30 runner Augustana team will debut there on the road to ACAC
Championships at the end of October.
